Perpetual License Terms

These Perpetual License Terms ("Addendum") supplement the End User License Agreement and clarify the rights, entitlements, and obligations specific to HForgeX Pro perpetual license purchasers.

1. What "Perpetual" Means

A perpetual license grants you the right to use the Pro features of the Software indefinitely, with no expiration date, subject to the terms below. "Perpetual" applies to the core Pro features available at the time of your purchase and any features released during your update entitlement period.

In plain terms: the Pro features you have on the last day of your update period will continue to work forever.

2. Update Entitlement Period

Your Pro license purchase includes one (1) year of feature updates from the date of purchase. During this period, you receive access to all new Pro features as they are released.

2.1 During the Update Period

• All existing Pro features continue to work.
• All newly released Pro features are automatically available to you.
• Bug fixes and security patches are included.

2.2 After the Update Period

• All Pro features available at the end of your update period continue to function indefinitely.
• New Pro features released after your update period require a renewal purchase.
• Bug fixes and security updates continue for all users regardless of update status.
• The extension itself continues to receive Chrome Web Store updates (we do not block extension updates).

3. Feature Gating (Not Version Pinning)

HForgeX uses feature gating, not version pinning. This means:

• Your extension is always updated to the latest version via Chrome Web Store.
• Features are individually gated based on your license's update entitlement date.
• Features released before or during your entitlement period remain unlocked.
• Features released after your entitlement period display a "renewal required" prompt.

We will never retroactively lock features you already had access to.

4. Device Binding

Each Pro license may be activated on up to three (3) devices simultaneously. Devices are identified by a unique Device Code (UUID) generated by the extension.

4.1 Managing Devices

You can manage your active devices through the License Portal:

• View all activated devices.
• Remove a device to free up a slot.
• Activate a new device (up to the 3-device limit).

4.2 Device Code Privacy

Device Codes are anonymous UUIDs that cannot be used to identify you personally. They serve only to enforce the device limit. See our Privacy Policy for details.

5. Renewal

After your one-year update entitlement period, you may optionally purchase a renewal to extend your access to new Pro features for an additional year.

• Renewal is optional — Your existing Pro features continue forever without renewal.
• Renewal pricing — Available at a discounted rate compared to the original purchase.
• No deadline — You can renew at any time. There is no penalty for waiting.
• Catch-up access — When you renew, you receive all Pro features released since your last update period.

6. Transferability

Your perpetual license is non-transferable. It may not be sold, gifted, assigned, or otherwise transferred to another individual. The license is bound to the purchaser as identified by the purchase email and license key.

7. Backward Compatibility Commitment

We commit to not intentionally breaking or degrading Pro features that you have access to under your license. If a feature must be significantly changed or retired for technical reasons, we will:

• Provide advance notice where possible.
• Offer an equivalent replacement feature at no additional cost.
• Document the change in our release notes.

8. Refund Impact

If you exercise your 30-day refund right, your perpetual license is voided in its entirety. All Pro features will be deactivated at the next online verification check. Device bindings will be cleared. You may continue to use the free tier.

9. Survival Clauses

Upon termination or expiry of the update entitlement period, the following survive:

• Your right to use Pro features available within your entitlement period (perpetual grant).
• Limitation of liability and disclaimer of warranties from the License Agreement.
• Intellectual property provisions.
• This Addendum's backward compatibility commitment.
